cooling systems

With Summer temperatures increasing, the hottest periods of the year can present many challenges to growers and it is vital to protect livestock from excessive heat stress.

Climatec Systems offer a range of solutions to combat over-heating in livestock buildings.

Top Climate System

The Lubing Top Climate system works on the principle of direct evaporative cooling. Water is pushed at high pressure through the hose and expelled as a misting fog of water droplets through nozzles at a pressure of 70 psi.  The small droplets evaporate immediately achieving the desired decrease in temperature and airborne dust, ammonia and pollutants, whilst avoiding wet floors, litter or equipment.

The immediate evaporation extracts thermal energy from the house air and cools the ambient air. Suitable for all poultry houses, including naturally ventilated buildings. This cooling effect saves energy because the ventilation rate can be reduced. The misting lines are supplied in assembled elements of 6 metres in length. Designed as complete integrated systems specified to the exact requirements of each individual poultry house, easily installed with little or no structural modifications.

The Top Climate system was developed to enable cooling, humidification and cleaning of the house air, and has a direct positive effect on animal welfare.

Evaporative Cooling Pads

These evaporative pads are normally placed at the tunnel inlet end of the poultry house, in front of the air inlets, requiring fans at the opposite end to draw cooler air throughout the building.  A circulation of water by gravity is created in honeycomb panels of cellulose or plastic construction, and the incoming air is cooled and humidified. Plastic pads have proven durability and efficiency compared to paper pads.

Advantages:
• Easy to clean due to the use of welded, highly resistant polymer plates
• Durable with a long lifetimeLowest pressure loss which significantly reduced energy consumption
• Impervious to light and resistant to chemicals
• Excellent cooling performance due to solid surfaces and grid structures

This system is used where highly efficient cooling is required.  Water is circulated through the system by a pump station and supplied to the top of the cooling pads via a water distribution pipe and flows down through the evaporative cooling pads.

High pressure cooling systems by VAL-CO

The highly versatile and effective high pressure cooling systems by VAL-CO lowers the air temperature by up to 8oC.  They work on the principle of evaporative cooling by pushing droplets of water at high pressure into the building.

Operating at 1000 psi, the systems produce water droplets of around 5-10 microns (compared to other systems with droplets of 250 – 450 microns).  The smaller the droplet, the more quickly it can evaporate, thus achieving the desired decrease in temperature and airborne dust, ammonia and pollutants, whilst avoiding wet floors, litter or equipment.

The high pressure cooling systems allow cooling anywhere in the building, not just at the tunnel inlet end, and distributes cooling evenly throughout the houses.  They are also highly effective in naturally ventilated livestock buildings.  Versatile systems constructed from 316 grade stainless steel incorporating a unique nozzle with anti-drip check valve and nozzle seals.

Designed as complete integrated systems specified to the exact requirements of each individual livestock building, easily installed with little or no structural modifications. These effective high pressure cooling systems are suitable for existing buildings or new-build projects.
