Lower Co2 in the poultry house
With the AIR2-DS heat exchanger, warm exhaust air from the poultry house is used to warm up incoming air by passing the cooler fresh air being brought into the poultry house through our plate system without the air mixing. This efficient system contributes to a uniform distribution of air across the building, leading to improved results and a reduction of energy usage by up to 70%, the extra-long plates in the Air2-DS exchanger enable these benefits. Buildings with heat exchangers also have better results in terms of physical performance, uniformity, creating a cleaner environment for the birds with lower co2, and an even temperature throughout the building.
Less energy usage and therefore lower costs of energy are the key advantages of the AIR2-DS. The heat exchanger also contributes to a uniform climate, with optimal temperature and humidity. Through the even distribution of air across the building, with a minimal draught, the livestock are more evenly distributed across the entire house. The birds are calmer, and stress is reduced. With the heat exchanger aiding an optimal environment, physical performance is better, with an improved feed conversion. Lastly, large differences in temperature, for example between day and night or during wintertime are minimised too. It is possible to increase ventilation during colder periods, thereby keeping the air quality optimal with lower Co2.
The AIR2-DS heat exchanger is equipped with horizontally placed plates. The exhaust air is sucked past these plates with a high-pressure fan, after which it is blown out through the exhaust chimney. The intake air is sucked through these same plates by a high-pressure fan, and subsequently blown into the building. The thickness of the plates and the distance between the plates are calculated in such a way that maximum efficiency with minimum resistance is achieved.
Fresh intake air is blown towards the ridge of the house. In the ridge of the building an ‘Air Catcher’ is placed. This is a perforated PVC sheet which lets through part of the air but catches most of it. Two recirculation fans, placed at either side of the Air Catcher and every 20 meters, distribute the air through the building.
The AIR2-DS can be equipped with a spray nozzle system for cleaning during usage. The spray nozzles are activated in phases to minimize the effects on efficiency. Entry hatches at the side and top of the exchanger come as standard. The system is easily accessible with a high-pressure hose for additional cleaning, if needed. Plastic doors with a rubber airtight sealing enable access to the control room of the heat exchanger.
The AIR2-DS heat exchanger is easy to install. After placing the heat exchanger, the air channels and water and electricity are connected.
The heat recovery unit can be controlled from the all-new POLA heat recovery XP unit
